
When used on a daily basis, bath curtains gets dirty very quickly. Cleaning bath curtain is a simple process. It can be done at home.
Before cleaning your bath curtain, take it down by unclipping the rings connecting it to the rod.
The easiest way to clean bath curtains is to put them into the washing machine. This will make them clean and looking better than new. Use one cup of bleach and one cup of detergent during the process. Put there also a few dirty towels (to fill the empty space) and set a gentle cycle. Warm water is better that the hot. After the cycle ends, take the bathroom curtains out of the machine. Put them to the tub and twist them gently. This will remove water. Hang curtains to the drip dry. The gravity and the hot steam the shower will force remaining wrinkles to disappear.
Soap scum does not look good on bath curtains. Here is an easy tip on removing it. Place the bath curtain in the washing machine. Fill the empty space with a few large towels. Add detergent and one cup of vinegar. Run the washing cycle in gently mode and warm water. Remove the curtains right after the washing ends. Hang them it back above the bath to dry.
Spent a few more minutes before hanging your bathroom curtains to soak them in a vinegar (a salt water mixture will do the same effect). This will prevent mold and mildew.
It might happen that some mold and mildew occur. If there is any - try washing the curtains in the washing machine (soaking in the bath tub will also do the trick) with one cup of bleach. Twenty minutes will be enough. Mold and mildew on vinyl curtains can be cleaned with plain water. Just add one cup of bleach during the process.
